A meal at The Lymbar could start with ceviche, corn gnocchi, or the truffle “Twinkies” — buttery brioche filled with a truffle-infused egg custard — that the chef created for the first Truffle Masters competition.

Prolific restaurant designer Gin Braverman used the interiors of David’s childhood home on Lymbar Drive in Southwest Houston as inspiration — and, as it turns out, she was David’s babysitter during those years, so she saw the space first-hand!

First announced last year, The Lymbar is named for Lymbar Drive, the street in Meyerland where the chef’s grandparents bought a house after immigrating to Houston from Nicaragua.

Houston diners have been eagerly anticipating the return of chef David Cordúa to the local dining scene since he announced in May 2021 the creation of his new restaurant The Lymbar.

“The Lymbar is my grandmother’s house,” Cordúa said in a statement. “It’s a tribute to all grandmothers. Mine liked well-worn paperbacks, crossword puzzles, rich food and whiskey.
